Work for Bright Side

One of the things I'm really coming to value about the wedding industry is working together, learning from each other, and always reflecting to improve our services to couples. In my former job as a school principal I loved building incredible teams and a community of "go getters."

So guys, we're going for it. My goal is set, and I want you on board. (No idea if anyone will be interested, but heck I'm putting this out there anyway.)

I know not everyone has capacity to do the "back end" of wedding prep, but would still love to shoot. I'm actually getting way more quality leads than I know what to do with, and I need something to keep me busy during the week. So, the plan is to build a small team of trusted photographers & creatives who genuinely care about people and creating an incredible wedding experience to work either as second shooters or lead shooters.

I want a "two way street" and I’d really value honest feedback so I can keep improving both my subcontracting process but also the wedding experience.

The brand values I base my business/work around are:

  • Having fun
  • Feeling Comfortable
  • Keeping it Easy
  • Being Prepared
  • Getting Great Photos

Nope, I don't want a high-volume wedding factory. Will plan to only occasionally sub-contract to those that are trustworthy, care, and align with my brand values and vision of top notch service for couples.

Why work for Bright Side?

  • Supportive and organised wedding days (truly, I've got you, I used to run a school of 70 staff and 300 children.)
  • Clear communication and brand expectations
  • Competitive flat pay rates per job
  • Creative freedom and trust

And

I may not be the most technically skilled photographer, will never claim to be. But things I understand deeply and can help you develop are:

  • Reading people, emotional regulation, communication, calmness, adaptability, leadership
  • Systems and workflow, how the architecture behind your business either helps or hinders you. Making it as automatic and easy as possible. I am more than willing for those keen to see the full ins and outs of how I operate as a business first and creative second.
  • Marketing, risk management, systems, client relationships, etc.

Together with you, I want to normalise reflecting, being real, debriefing, and helping each other learn & grow long the way. I want you to feel respected, safe, challenged, and encouraged (and I want you to challenge me.) I genuinely want the people I work with to grow and succeed.

Yes, there’ll be contracts and clear terms, but my goal is for this to feel less transactional and more like a great connection for both of us. The kind where something crazzzyyyy happens and you can call me and say, “Hey, this happened today. How would you handle it?”

Show up, be present, do your best, be a learner along with me, bring good energy for couples - and I’ll back you 100%.
